Israel and India are coordinating on a new date for Netanyahu’s visit after a delay due to security concerns, with Israel reaffirming strong bilateral ties and expressing solidarity in the wake of the Delhi terror attack.
Hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu postponed his visit to India over security concerns following the deadly terror attack in New Delhi two weeks ago, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Tuesday said the two countries are working to coordinate a new date for the visit and that Netanyahu has “full confidence” in India’s security under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Israel’s relationship with India and between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very strong. The Prime Minister has full confidence in India’s security under Prime Minister Modi, and the teams are already coordinating on a new visit date,” the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office posted on its official account.
The Office of the Prime Minister:
Israel’s bond with India and between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Prime Minister @NarendraModi is very strong. The PM has full confidence in India’s security under the leadership of PM Modi and the teams are already coordinating on the date of the new visit.

Israeli media reports suggest that Netanyahu, who was scheduled to visit New Delhi in December in what would be his first official visit to India since 2018, postponed the trip due to security concerns following the deadly terror attack in the capital earlier this month.
According to those reports, he is now expected to ask for a new date next year “pending a security assessment”.
On November 12, the Israeli Prime Minister expressed his condolences to PM Modi and the people of India after a car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that claimed several lives and injured dozens.
In a statement shared on Twitter, Netanyahu described India and Israel as ancient civilizations that hold on to eternal truths and stressed that terrorist attacks will not shake the strong resolve of their people.
“To our dear friend Narendra Modi and the brave people of India: Sarah and I, and the people of Israel, express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Israel stands with you in grief and in strength,” the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office posted on Twitter.
It said, “India and Israel are ancient civilizations that stand firm on eternal truths. Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls. The light of our nations will drive away the darkness of our enemies.”
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar also expressed condolences to the people of India, including the families of those killed in the blast, while reaffirming Israel’s support for India in the fight against terrorism.
“I express my deepest condolences on behalf of Israel and myself to the people of India and especially to the families of the innocent victims of the blast in the center of Delhi. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Israel stands with India in the fight against terror,” Saar posted on Twitter.
